Under book cover

I’m a book lover. I’ve been collecting and reading books since I was in grade school.

All of my pre-made book covers are for sale.

This book cover was created for Pam Sharma’s novel “Under”. The salt and mucus burned the back of his nose and throat as he pulled for the light above. The blue rumble of mother nature pressed up against his skull like a vice. Bubbles blocking his vision, he tugged hard on his life cord. Up he moved. Ages passed by as he started to choke on his own breath. His finger hit the bite of cold air and he inhaled the musk of the sea. Opening his eyes, Kyle rolled over to check for the next set.

The wave rolled him over and the darkness beckoned him once more. Blue sky, dark depths, blue sky. The master was making a fool of it’s puppet. Kicking hard, Kyle took another breath as he broke the surface.

“Dude!” “Kyle, what the hell man,” a voice barked. His scalp immediately burned as his head and arm were dragged up and across the back of the ski. “Cussing A!” Bart screamed. “You trying to kill the both of us?” The large man dressed in seal skin kept one hand on Kyle’s back as he turned the ski towards the lazy side of the break. “Dude, you’ve got to get your shit together,” he said. “I can’t keep putting my life in danger for you to get 10 seconds of Instagram fame.” Looking towards his best friend of twenty years, Bart wrinkled his brow and cleared his nose with salty snot rockets.

Minil Effect – book cover

I’m a book lover. I’ve been collecting and reading books since I was in grade school.

This book cover was created for Jim Nord’s novel “Minil Effect”. “You can’t slow down the heart Max!” the stylishly dressed pre-med student sarcastically spat as he lit his second joint. “I mean, if you want to find nirvana without actually going to nirvana, you should just take a hit of this.” Holding the lit joint in the air, he smiled and shook his other fist triumphantly. “Join us brother,” he chuckled.

Max smiled and then eyeballed the orange bottle of pills once again. “Dude, these will work. I’m sure of it.” Setting the bottle on the kitchen counter, Max grabbed the half eaten burger and took a victory bite. “Damn, he mumbled as he chewed with his mouth open. “This burger would go a lot better with beer.” Looking towards the pill bottle, Max squeezed the lid and popped it off. “I’m doing it!”

“Say hello to the ultimate being when you see him,” Ryan said as he took another hit.

The pill was oval shaped, blue and hinted at a better reality. Tossing it into the back of his mouth, Max grabbed the day old soda and took a large gulp. “Let the trip begin,” Max thought.

T.R.I.N. – book cover

I’m a book lover. I’ve been collecting and reading books since I was in grade school.

This book cover was created for Patricia Maas’s novel “T.R.I.N.”. “My dad always used to say that you can’t kill em’ twice.” Scratching the almost bald spot on the top of his head, Tommy stared out the grimy window into the city lights. It had been two hours since he left the morgue. Two hours since Dr. Wymes showed him the remains of what appeared to be a homeless man.

The corpse was rail thin, stretched tight and grey in color. The eyes were missing and no visible signs of struggle or malice were evident. The only thing to hang a sign on was the corpses esophagus. The damn thing was sealed shut an inch and a half behind the last molar. It hadn’t been surgically sealed either. It was just sealed.

A bright light stabbed Tommy’s eye’s as a car made it’s way around the bend in front of the Motel 6. Squinting, Tommy turned to pick up the olive green rotary phone that was screwed to the bedside table. Tapping on the numbers, he waited for the line to connect. “Hey John, it’s Tommy. What do you know about aliens?”

Tremont – book cover

I’m a book lover. I’ve been collecting and reading books since I was in grade school.

This book cover was created for Paul Jaffe’s novel “Tremont”. Don hadn’t smoked a cigarette in 6 days. Boots caked in mud, he suction cupped his way across the bog towards the yellow tape. “Hi Don,” his deputy said as he flicked a spent cigarette away from the crime scene. “Damn’t Mike, you know I’m trying to quit.”

“Sorry Don.” “I don’t know why the hell your tryin’ to stop. You’re going to kick the bucket one way or another. You might as well go out happy.”

Looking down, Don took in the scene. The muddied foot of a young girl stuck out from under the sheet covering her. No footprints around the body except for Mike’s. A good 30 yards away from the road. “Someone had to really go out of their way to get her body out here,” said Don.

Geisha 2.0 – book cover

I’m a book lover. I’ve been collecting and reading books since I was in grade school.

This book cover was created for Jessica Henovey’s novel “Geisha 2.0”. Peering out through a peep hole cut into the dark shipping container, she could make out the shapes of men arguing. Her stomach lurched as the hunger twisted her guts in knots. “How long had it been,” she thought. Still focused on the distant men, she thought about her little sister and the time they forgot sandwiches for a camping trip. That time was gone now. She had tasted her future the day before last when the men chained her to the filth for display. She had been sold.

Closing her eyes, the sounds of Houston’s shipping port faded and she tried to steady her pounding heart. Nudged, she opened her eyes and smiled at the young girl next to her. No words could ease the harsh truth.
