For the 2011/2012 Christmas season, I decided to make a few illustrations as gifts. Normally I would use pencil on paper or ink, whatever. This time I decided to use Copic markers on canvas. I Gessoed the canvas of course and then put down some light pencil lines before marking up the rough with a grey Copic.
My goal was to start with a blank canvas, a bottle of Merlot #8, a few markers and middle of the night hours. Yep, so,… my process is simple. Draw, color, color more, color more again, rinse and repeat.
I like to start with the eyes and nose in order to establish line weight and the colors I’ll use throughout the illustration.
I took these pics with my Vowel Phone 4 under crappy light. I’ve worked my way to her mouth at this point. Oh – so exciting.
So I’ve inked in the hair and I’ve started working up the body outlines. I really don’t have a strategy at this point except to finish as quickly as possible. I think it was like 3 in the morning at this stage.
Clothes and chest time. I decided to stay very monochromatic with the illustration. So yep, the clothes and skin have the same tones.
Yes, almost out of wine and shading in the skin for the arms.
Time to add more shadow and depth the skin and clothes. Copic People! Copic!
The final product and I’m happy with the final illustration. — Time for bed.

20 Haunted House Photographs
On October 30th and 31st of 2010, Haunt Force put on the annual Kingwood Asylum Haunted House. The haunted house is set in the residential area of Kingwood and encompasses the front yard, drive way, garage, backyard and neighbors driveway of Shayne Torrans residence. In 2010 we ran two nights for 3 hours each and had well over 1,500 people visit. The haunted house is a food drive event for the Society of Saint Stephen. The canned goods are donated by our non profit banner “Haunt for Hunger”.
To say our haunted house is popular would be an understatement. For the past four years we have had a line that stretched as far as the eyes can see. People start showing up hours beforehand just to get a spot in line. We have a dedicated team of family and friends working on the haunted house for several months before opening night. All of the props, buildings, soundtracks, marketing, costumes, makeup, lighting, acting and management are all done in-house by our select group of talented people.

Ainsley Aviation Logo & Website
Client: Ainsley Aviation
Location: Houston, Texas
Details: Logo Design
I was commissioned by Ainsley Aviation to create a logo for print and web branding. Garrett Wiley, owner of Ainsley Aviation, wanted a logo that would easily convey the aircraft brokering business he owned. We both decided that a jet in flight would work splendidly. The logo went through a few minor changes but largely remained the same as the initial version. Mr. Wiley, is very happy with the logo.
DesignByOne.com, also helped Mr. Wiley, setup and design his company website. Ainsley Aviation

Homecoming Beauty Brochure
Client: Mary Kay
Purpose: Promote Beauty Makeover party
Duration: 2 days.
I was commissioned by Paula Ellisore, a representative of Mary Kay Cosmetics to create a promotional brochure for an upcoming beauty makeover party. This is the first brochure I created for her business. Paula provided a loose listing of bullet points and asked me to create an eye-catching brochure that she could print and distribute by eBlast. I enjoyed working on this project and Paula was very happy with the final result.
